JoAnne is a licensed social worker (LMSW) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) from Western Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Wayne State University. She also has a certification from the Academy of Social Work (ACSW). JoAnne is a certified School Social Worker as well as a clinical social worker. She has worked in a middle school in St. Clair Shores for over 20 years and as a clinical social worker for over 30 years.  JoAnne started her career in psychiatric hospitals for children and adolescents prior to working in the schools. She has extensive experience providing individual and family counseling to children, adolescents, and adults with various emotional and behavioral issues. Her experience in outpatient and inpatient mental health and in the schools, gives her the unique perspective to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She also provides volunteer therapy hours through the Give an Hour organization providing military veterans and their families with counseling sessions and is a volunteer with the Michigan Emergency Preparedness and Response Division through Homeland Security.
