Jerry M. Nehr, Jr., MA, LPC has over 20 years of experience working as a professional counselor.  His areas of specialty include Substance use Disorders and other Addictions, Co-Occurring Disorders, Anxiety, Relationships, Parenting, and Anger Management.  He has worked in a wide variety of professional settings, including Private Practice Counseling, Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, Jails / Prisons, and Middle and High Schools.  

Jerry has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a master’s degree in Counseling and Addiction Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy.   

In addition to his counseling practice, Jerry provides training for Law Enforcement Officers in the areas of Implicit Bias, Emotional Intelligence, Officer Wellness, and De-Escalation and Negotiation.

Finally, Jerry is a writer whose book “Erasing the Margins,” is available on www.amazon.com.  He has published essays and articles on Implicit Bias, Addiction, and Leadership in “Spotlight on Recovery” out of Brooklyn NY, and The Detroiter Magazine.
